Now that you have fully separated the upper shell and the base, you can get to the roller-ball assembly.

Using the cross-head screwdriver, remove the three screws holding the roller-ball assembly in place. Don’t lose them!

Remove the outer black housing by pressing lightly on the retaining clips…

…to release the innerĀ  ball assembly, sensor and metal liner.

This inner assembly splits again in a similar manner to release the ball and 4 sensor magnets.

These little fellas are the dirt attractors, give them a good clean, along with the ball itself and the white ball retainer.
